In the sector of ressource identification of world-wide wind potential, Meteoserv provides best possible decision-making support for your company. For this, we use approved and tested 3D mesoscale models (e.g., MC2, WRF), which have been successful for the evaluation of wind resources in complex terrain as well as for operational forecast services.
For the long-range area of investigation, representative wind potential fields are generated out of the mesoscale simulation for a specific hub height with a grid resolution from up to 1 km. By the subsequent application of a microsite model and a further improvement of the digital elevation model, it is possible to increase the resolution of the wind fields to meters.
For the model validation and to increase the accuracy of the prediction, local wind measurements as well as operational data from reference wind turbines in the project and the surrounded area are considered.
